Getting an Online College General Education Degree From Your Home

This semester is the first year I took an online college calculus course. In the past, I was forced to attend class on campus for several hours at a time. But this semester, I could study and learn in my own home. And that was great!
How many of you can say that you would have been content if you could have attended an online college course instead? I remember when I was first going to a new college, the professor was asking a lot of questions about calculus and then I was asked to do homework. You know, the usual "you have to do your homework or you don't get credit."
Then I did my Physics class with a freshman. I didn't understand all of the concepts, but I did learn how to make a graph, what the term "Energy Law" means and how to analyze it. The freshmen asked me questions, but they also asked if I was getting credit for doing all of the homework because it was an online course.
They just said that it was just an online class and they knew I was getting online credit for the class. That's where I got to experience online courses first hand. I told myself, "not now!"
There are quite a few advantages to taking an online college calculus course. One of the most significant is the ability to work in your pajamas at night. Yes, you read that right.
Yes, the learning process is done in a "real" way, but the opportunities to learn while doing other things are excellent. It's no wonder that people who study online love it so much. That's the great thing about college: you don't get distracted by other distractions.
Online colleges don't have the issues that you have in your local community college. There are more options and students take advantage of them. It's a big plus.
Some online courses do require workbooks and reference materials, but the requirements are so minimal that you can save yourself a lot of time. For example, in online college courses, the most extensive requirement is the use of the online calculus software which you download from the site. That's pretty much it.
Just keep in mind that if the course is not challenging, there is really no reason to go through with it. Most of the time, online courses are very well organized, so you should be able to navigate to the classes you need without any problems.
If you can't find a Math class on the schedule, try searching on Google, Bing or Ask.com. These search engines will bring up the right course for you in a matter of seconds. And if you don't find one within your neighborhood, you can still study online from an office suite.
If you take the time to read the description of the online college course, you will probably be able to tell right away if the professor is good or not. If you find a professor with a long list of credentials, but no test scores, you may want to find another instructor. In my case, I was able to find a professor who had some decent test scores.
For those of you who do not know, many people are earning college degrees from online courses. It's a wise investment of your time and money. Just make sure that you do your homework first before choosing your online college course.
